China's upgrade

So china has made some upgrades to their firewall so accessing my VPN hasn't been easy. I have finally been able to get on this week.
So we are on Chinese New Year break. This means that I get four weeks off of work....now I was only supposed to get 15 days off but the school decide to fit two weeks into one and give teachers and extra week off.....now we didn't know that this was going to happen until that week. Typical china....
So I don't have any plans as we have a rugby match on feb 16th and then soccer training on feb 17 and then a soccer team from Beijing is coming down to play us....and then on march 9th chongqing rugby team is coming down to play us.
Our character class has been on hiatus since Christmas break because the holidays are so close together.
And I still have my bicycle. It hasn't been stolen...
So I am going to travel around Kunming to take pictures of the lesser known wonders....

SUBWAY...not the delicious one

So Kunming has been working on their new subway system for over 3 years now. They built the first line that goes out to the airport. It has been up and running since the end of June. It is working okay. The train has only derailed nice which is a great feat for something that is made IN china. The Chinese process is cheaper and faster the better for them. So they were supposed to have completed the second line on january 1st which is supposed to go from the south all the way to the north.  It didn't get completed by then.  Well, they are really close to the finishing it.  They were even doing test runs on the track. 50 days this time

So the holidays have come and gone…..For Christmas we had are pot luck and we had over 50 people show up for food and Scottish dancing…..We didn’t some new dances this year as opposed to last year. But either way it was a fun time….I have started playing basketball on Saturdays again as the soccer team hasn’t been able to enter into a league and I don’t know why. They tell us that the organization is under reconstruction. The rugby team is taking a break until after the Chinese new year.

So my new bike lasted 50 days before it got stolen. If you recall, my last bike lasted 10 days. I have to tell you that I am pretty mad about it. There were 5 bikes sitting in the same spot as mine and mine was the one that got stolen. Hopefully the new year bring more luck to my bikes. We are back from the Character Club break next week. It has been almost a month since teaching. 

We will continue with creativity as we didn’t really have a lesson last time as it was just making gingerbread houses.

Our school is doing an English camp and they asked me to do something but that is all I have been told. I don’t know anything else. Originally they asked me to do some sports theme, and then they came back and said no to that and wanted to do something more like the gingerbread houses. What other type of food making while eating holiday or camp thing is there?
